"58 BPM" is a documentary series produced by Soul Film Productione and distributed on Mediaset Infinity.
It explores resilience through the eyes and muscles of three elite athletes forced to stop due to the Covid-19 emergency:
Laura Rogora, world climbing champion; Maelle Frascari, world sailing champion; and Mattia Migliorini, surfer and Italian champion.
Behind the Scenes: Real Risks and New Rules
Filming in the midst of a pandemic required an extraordinary amount of effort from the team: special permits obtained amidst constant regulatory changes, masks worn at all times even during the most hectic moments, and logistics revolutionized by the need to ensure everyone's safety.
Some scenes were shot in extreme conditions—on a boat in a storm, hanging from sheer cliffs, or immersed in the waves with a completely deserted coastline.
The combination of practical limitations and high emotional tension required extraordinary ingenuity: skeleton crews, audio and camera management in challenging environments, and a new intimacy, forced yet authentic, that made the story even more sincere and powerful.
